Taigene Conducts ISO 26262 Functional Safety Training: All Participants Pass Certification
To realize the vision of intelligent vehicles, Taigene has actively promoted ISO 26262 Road Vehicles Functional Safety certification.
ISO 26262 is the international functional safety standard for the automotive industry. It focuses on the electrical and electronic systems in vehicles and establishes safety mechanisms to ensure that systems achieve an acceptable level of safety. With the rapid development of automotive technology, modern vehicles are now equipped with dozens of safety-related electronic systems, such as Electric Power Steering (EPS), Lane Departure Warning, Electronic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), AUTO HOLD, Emergency Brake Assist, and even autonomous driving systems.
These systems rely on complex software and are critical to vehicle safety. Any malfunction could lead to serious personal injury or property loss. Products designed in accordance with ISO 26262 help ensure functional safety and reduce such risks. Furthermore, built-in safety mechanisms can respond to abnormal operations, providing sufficient data for product responsibility analysis.
In August 2022, Taigene invited TÜV NORD to conduct an ISO 26262 training program, primarily for the R&D and Quality Assurance teams. A total of 21 employees participated in the three-day foundational course and examination. Ultimately, all employees who took the test passed and obtained the "Professional Automotive Functional Safety Engineer" qualification. This milestone marks a key step toward full certification. To recognize this achievement, the company awarded each successful participant a bonus of NT$10,000.
Taigene continues to work toward obtaining full ISO 26262 certification in September 2023. Internal teams are currently establishing process guidelines and documentation through cross-departmental collaboration, building a solid foundation for successfully achieving this international standard.
